CV boot/Joint

Whats the easiest way to find out if this is busted in some way?

I've got rather a loud metal on metal "click" coming from my passenger side fron wheel.

Only happens when the car is in motion but it's totally random. Doesn't seem to be worse if turning in any particular direction/hitting bumps/different speeds etc just does it whenever it feels like lol

sometimes it's loads of clicks in a row then others just one loud one

doesn't seem to matter whether the car is cold or warmed up either...it's not the strut tops as I've always had that, this is certainly something different and ALOT louder than the strut top noise..:dapprove:

hum, is the outer CV boot still on or has it popped off?

dunno, not had a look yet, to be fair I don't really know what I'm looking at/for other than it's some sort of Rubber gaiter...almost like an oldschool gearstick gaitor

not actually got under the car yet, just after ideas for what to look at.
