Cv Boot

Car  C-VXR, T8 Map 220BHP
my sis has just brought a 52plate clio and i have been looking through its bills etc and its had the O/s/f CV BOOT replaced twice. anyone know what it is and does?

Its just a little Rubber boot that surrounds the Constant Velocity (C.V) joint. Basically its their to protect the joint from dust and the elements and to keep it covered in grease. Simple small job to replace but an MOT fail if not done.

Its pretty common for them to split or for the metal strap holding them on to come loose, ive had it done on mine.

yea i had mine go a month or 2 ago thought my tyre was going down it was just grease flying out of it lol

othing to worry about, mine went a few months ago, hardest part is getting the grease off your wheels lol
