How much do you think it should cost me to get a new cv boot fitted? Renault want 300!

haven't done one but wouldn't have thought you'd be charged much more than a couple of hours labour - ?

did Renault quote you for a driveshaft or something?

no just cv boot. This is what i thought at first. I assume a local garage will be cheaper.

should be about half that (plus a bit) for a new shaft fitted really

Thought the full shaft had to be replaced ?

can you not knock the CV off the end of the shaft to fit a boot, or use a rubber boot and stretch it on with one of those cone tools?

Cost me £200 ( I think!) for both to be done on my ph1. That was 2 drive shafts.

180 for passenger's side i paid for from National tyres..

did my own for £14.99
just got a kit from local car parts place and did it my self took about 2hrs start to finish...and that was my first ever one so.... cant be that hard with a little mechanical know how and a set of the right tools

£300 quid? thats abit expensive. havnt they heard about the credit crunch?

Cost me £30 from my local garage. They said the Renault CV boots are shocking as the seal always comes away.

They put on a universal rubber one with a lifetime guarantee.
