CV Joint

  2003 Clio 1.5 Dci
Hello,

My ABS and Serv light come on my dash whenever i go over 60mph but never comes on under that speed. I've been told about a few things to check including the teeth on the CV joints. They are looking a bit worse for wear but the drivers side does have a tooth missing whereas the passenger side has all teeth in-tacked. Could that one missing tooth cause this light to keep coming on. Also the ABS does kick in under light braking but only very occasionally. My Clio a 2003 1.5 Dci

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

  dan's cast offs.
missing tooth will **** up the count, surprised it doesn't show up until over 60 though?

as above a tooth missing will make it play up count the amount of teeth and replace the ring.

Count the teeth and buy the correct ring on e-bay for about a fiver. You can DIY but a garage will charge about an hours labour to do it if you're not sure. Don't go to a Renault garage as they will tell you that you need a complete new driveshaft and that the rings can't be got on their own !
