cv joints gone... quote

doesnt seem bad. I am not 100% sure about the ph1 but I know for sure that the ph2 you have to replace the entire shaft. I paid £95 + Vat per shaft and then fitted them myself.

why did you have to buy 2 shafts? my CV joints went on both sides and i got it done by Renault for £80 each side.....of course another Renault garage i called wanted to pull the shafts off and give me new ones for a few hundred quid but there was no need in the end....just repack with grease, clip them on, bob's your fat uncle...

Is this at Renault!!! They sell a gaitor repair kit, which consists of new gaitor, clips and grease. Each side is about £18.00 each.

gaitor is a bit different to the joint itself though, CV joints and driveshafts have both got very costly in the last couple of years. It's always been more cost effective to change a shaft and save on labour time but it's debatable these days. I prefer to do the shaft if I'm honest, just for confidence in the part :)

Whoops yeah sorry i somehow assumed it was just the gaitors. Renault used to do an exchange basis on the driveshafts where you'd get money back from your old ones (assume they went away to be re-manufactured).
