Damaged alloy wheel.

  Albi 197
Hi, I hit a brick in the middle of the road yesterday, and it did the following damage to my front drivers side wheel. Just wondering if this can be repaired, or is a new alloy needed?

Thanks a lot.

Looks like just the lip is bent so should straighten up, a decent tyre dealer can straighten it out but the tyre will have to come off. When straightened it can be tested on the wheel balancing machine for straightness. If it is too far gone then an alloy wheel restorer will have to weld a new section in. If you can buy a secondhand wheel cheap enough it may be the best option.

Yeah i've looked around on ebay and they're over £100 for one, and i'm not going to pay that :p

Probably wait for an auction on ebay and try to get it cheaply.

Yeah, try a hammer yourself, nothing to loose. If it cracks then another wheel

My advice, dont it will crack! I have tried it a few times on damaged alloy wheels take it to someone who knows what they're doing and save it

Get a new one, not worth the hassle trying to bend it back.

now i need to find a good colour match for the anthracite paint to repair the scrapes :(

moral of the story is don't floor it over a blind brow.;) lucky there was'nt traffic built up on the other side could of been alot worse some nasty drops round there:rasp:
