damn, plugs + oil, help

ppl,

thought about new plugs and leads at some point, so today quickly looked at the plugs and after taking of the leads noticed that 1 & 4 had oil all around the lead, and the plug base was partly submerged in oil, 2 & 3 were the same but with less oil

there isnt much in there tbh, but it doesnt look good, im gonna clean it all up tomorrow and check what the base of the plug is like, any ideas from this ??

someone has said it might just be the rocker cover gasket gone, which is quite cheap. but also it might be a misshaped valve, which a compression test would prove.

sorry for the essay, but would like ppls opinions before starting to spend out, as i have heard someone whisper rebuild and it scared me alot

cheers

you will also find unless you have very good aim that when you fill the car with oil any that you spill over will go straight down to where the spark plugs sit. but yes it could also be the probs you suggested

Id clean them up first and soak up the excess oil with a long bit of paper towel poked down to get all the crap out.

Run it for a day or so and if the oil comes back then youve got a problem, otherwise its just oil that leaked down when you last refilled.

opened it all up and replaced the rocker gasket, but not sure if that was the problem, will check in a few days to see if it returns
