Damn Radio Code!!

i put my standard clio cd player back in a few days ago... and on ignition it asked for the radio code as expected... so i followed the instructions in the manual and used the code provided in the service booklet. after entering via the stalk i held down the button it said and all i get is a beep and 'ERROR' on the screen. No matter how many times i try all i get is error, ive tried entering it with the headunit itself as an alternative method... same thing 'ERROR', ive even tried it half and half... entering with the stalk and saving with the headunit... all results in 'ERROR'.

Is there any way i can get this to work or reset the unit because i cant be doing with the sound of rattles all the time until i get a new unit!! Plus, my nearest renault is a treck and dont really have the time to go up there and be messed about...

thanks if anyone can help.

you are holding down the number 6 once the code's entered?

allow it to stand for a while with it saying code. the wait will go up with the amont of wrong codes once = 20 sec wait twice = 50sec wait and so on repeated wrong codes will block it.

yes, reg number and VIN number should produce a code but I suspect it'll incur a charge from Renault. PM lemonnobby1 I think he can get them.

Sound like you have got a replacement radio and not the one that came from the factory. this is why the code in the service book doesnt match up
