Im not gonna preach at you, but i think what he's getting at is that if you cant see a speed camera/ camera van ahead, you wont see potential hazards/ a small child running into the road.

Think of the consequences of your actions.

im not saying i speed to the extent of 80mph down them, its just when your doing 40 on these bolivards (sp) which are 30 and its way to slow and the average speed everyone who goes down thee is like 40, then they stick some stupid van down 1 of the side roads.. That takes the piss

Let me point a few things out.

If you're sat in traffic cruising above the normal speed, no one will bother you.

If there's a mobile speed trap, your car must be the only car in the frame for it to be a valid piece of evidence, so if you're following someone you're fine.

Secondly, mobile laser traps are a fairly rare occurance on ones travels, I've come across 3 that've had a pop at me in 30,000 miles. I have a laser jammer though (PM me if you want to discuss that one though).

If it's raining then the police won't use laser traps (so no mobile vans), xenon lights also affect them (although I know for a fact it doesn't stop the gun getting a reading, it can be used in court to evade prosecution).

And finally.

If you're going to speed, accept you might get caught. It's your outlook, and if you need a Road Angel to tell you where GATSO cameras are, you shouldn't be on the road imo.

FYI: Laser detectors are worthless. The only way round mobile traps is

a) not speeding
b) jammers

Traffic pigs?

Who do you call when your pride and joy gets stolen?
When you have an accident?

They hardly do anythin when a car gets stolen, and at an accident they do their utmost to make you feel a complete t**t when they're supposed to be helping.

Decent connections are what you need to find a stolen car, unless it's been dumped and reported then the police will ring you.

I'd say RoadAngel is great, but get a SatNav unit like the RoadAngel one which does both, for few quid extra.

get a sat nav and upload the database form www.pocketgpsworld.com, its £19 for years member ship and unlimited downloads, on there they have all the static locations and also any noted mobile ones and also relight cameras and temporary camera locations and specs camera. you load them onthe sat nav and they aleard you when your close to one of the known locations and usually your nav unit will beep when you speedign at that location mine does. works well for me especilly for the sneey cameras like at the end of slip roads or 10 yard form s swithc form a 60-30. plus if your a member of that site and the first to locate a new camera you get a lifetimes subcription free.
At least the Satnav option can help you dodge them as the show up as a location ont he road map and you can navigate around them lol.

I'm sure there will be a website for your local area to tell you where the mobile units will be on a particular day. I use a road angel plus as I do a lot of driving to places I'm not familiar with and does come in handy, but they are pretty pointless if you drive the same route every day.
