How much roughly are new dampers and springs all round, standard renault for a 172, and how can i tell if mine are buggered?

Standard shocks are about £45 a corner, pretty good I thought.

Springs are pretty horrendous though, I paid about £90 from a dealer for one front spring a year or two ago :( New standard shocks with Eibachs imho, lot cheaper :)

How many miles you done Rollo? Usually signs are leaky shocks aswell as cracked, fractured and broken springs. Noisy shock tops etc etc.

Put new shocks/springs all round on a 100k Clio even if the old ones look okay, and aren't leaking and you'd notice a difference, they just wear like everything else. Might be a fair old cost from Renault but well worth it.

£45 a corner for front that well cheap that's better than on lower models, is that right? eg for front shocks ?

  Cup'd Monaco 172
Do you need standard springs? I didn't think springs wore out.

I'd just change the shocks and maybe check the wishbone bushes and top mounts.
