Dan's Ph1 track/fun car project

Some of you may of read my previous project thread my BG 182 anyway fell out of love with it and finances ect lead me to put it back to standard and put up for sale.. im now back on my feet again money wise so decided to get a new car for ages i was saying i was going to get a mk1 FRS and then a R26.

I ended up with a ph1 :). Ive done a few trackdays with Dan (imprezaworks) in the past and really liked his ph1 although didnt think i could own one after having the ph2 but i absolutely love it great little car. Anyway monday evening after work i got the train to liverpool and met dan at his work took the car out and it was spot on handed the cash over bla bla bla and i now have my new car. The main reason i wanted it was i didnt have to spend £££'s on it as its got some tasteful mods as it is.

- FK Konigsport coilovers (adjustable/dampening)
- OMP decatted system
- JMS Induction kit with ITG filter
- Whiteline arb.
- OMP steering wheel with boss
- Dogbone powerflex gearbox mount.
- Braided hoses.
- Practically new yellowstuff brake pads, with new Brenbo HC Discs
- Rear OE discs and pads.
- New track rod ends
- OMP front strut brace.
- Yanoo kit.
- 4x New Federal rsr's, .
- 4x Hankook v12's will be included, again plenty of life left. Good tyres btw.
- Has been mapped by Paul at RS Tunning producing 170bhp,
-Pure motorsport top mounts


Reciepts for everything, FSH and mainly the belts been done 14k ago 2 years.

And at the price i got it for i thought was a bargain...

theres quite abit of water gathered up in there couple of inches maybe any idea what that's from and how to get rid of it?

My intentions are to paint all the rear black/graphite not decided yet as im also doing the wheels BMW graphite in the next week...

Anyone got any tips about what to do with all the wires can they be re routed so there out of the way?

Off to the ring july 20th cant wait to take the ph1 round and just the overall experience of going then crack on and get some trackdays under my belt over here
 
You can re-route and hide all the wires. On the passenger side I had to chop and rejoin the wires. But some peoples wires have reached if your lucky!

Car looks tidy :)

It is I had a lot of people say just leave it as its mint but I bought it to use as a track car suppose in just lucky it's in good nick aswell :)

Ah right I'll have a go at it tommorow also may be a stupid question but can you do anything with the wires that go into where the rear seat was?

Has it been jetwashed? If so it could have got in from behind the gumdrops on the quarter or have you got a leaky rear window?

No leaky window, not sure about been jet washed only had it a week,, I'll empty it somehow and see if anything comes back

I had the same problem with my passenger side too. The rear window is leaking and running down the insode of the qaurter and filling it up. If you can get use of an airline blow all the holes in the sill ( under the car) and it will drain out no problem, Any water getting in will then run out the drains. Just make sure you keep an eye on them as they block easy!

cheers spoke to a mate a little erlier he said the exact same thing going to get it sorted tommorow.

Hoping to get a few bits done today

fit 3/4 plate

Decided I'm gonna go Matt black for the interior

Unsure on the wheels though Matt or gloss black?

Hmmmm i'm more of a gloss fan tbh but suppose if its going to be a track car matt would be easy to keep on top of if they take a bit of a scuff

Nice. I was so tempted to buy this. Seeing as you have the pure top mounts you might as well get rid of that red brace and get the pure motorsport brace to fit it?

Didn't understand those number plates though! (not your 3/4 one the originals). Ph1 are the ones to have.

Got a few bits and bobs done today mainly grinding bits out of the rear cleaning it up and painting turned out pretty decent for 1 coat decided to go with matt black in the end.

just electric taped the wires together and a few tie wraps for the time being until i re route them.

Didnt get round to doing wheels thats going to be a job for next weekend along with fitting a skoda splitter. thats 1 or 2 jobs out the way anyway may the long list continue

FINALLY AN UPDATE!!

must be the worst project thread on this forum but oh well....

realised its about time i cracked on with the ph1 so had a few parcels delivered this week :)

Eibach 25mm hub centric spacers
Ferodo ds3000 pads
Skoda splitter
Matt black paint X6 Grey primer
Bimarco Futura OMP subframes and side mounts X2

and lots of stripping.

anyway set about getting stuff put on and taken out of the clio this weekend, set out early saturday morning and to no suprise it chucked it down for most of the day but managed to get through it and heres the results

The car was crying out for a clean as it hadent been done for about 3 week :/ so gave it a quick was nothing special and took some pictures:

Need to get some harnesses this week also ordered some 15mm spacers for the rears so will get them fitted at the weekend, Not fitted the 3000's yet will be doing that next weekend along with removing some more stuff then should be all set for the ring.

Plans for when im back:

Cage
spare wheels with track rubber
plenty of track days and enjoy the car

also thanks to demon tweeks for an awesome service will definately be using again

Where did you get the seats from in the end Dan And also the numberplate? I need new front and rears.? Car's looking tidy btw look forward top catching up on track again some time, hopefully not going backwards ;)

Ha yeah preferably Going in the same direction,

Got the seats from a member on here and the number plate from fancy plates and it's fixed with them sticky Velcro pads ya get from halfords ect...

You doing that renaultsport day at oulton park

Got the ds3000 chucked on aswell and had run out on them last night to bed them in, started squeling after abit but they feel sharp as hell after abit so happy with them, and put my H&R 15mm rear spacers on

need to do some touching up with the paint on the interior as have took bits out since painted it.

pretty much all set for the ring on friday now slightly excited :)

might see you there then bud. you been before? how much roughly does it cost in juice to get there and back?

Also, I can't find my friggin logbook! I only have the green slip from when I bought it! (but I've been getting tax reminders so it's in my name). Is this a problem?

Havent got a clue about the log book situation mate cant imagine you will need it will you? if so i didnt know lol

nope never been before group im going with have been for about 13yr i think started of going through the RS owners club couple of cossies still going ect.. cant really answer the fuel question,

we are travelling to hull (not far at all) then ferry to ze brugge then drive to the ring stopping in a hotel about 5 min from track.

is there a few of you going

Yeah I read on the AA site that you need to take your V5 with you. Dunno what the penalties are for not having it though?!

Nah it's just me and my bro going for something to do. He's back in England and i've got a week off and CBA easyjetting it again, fancy something different.

How much for that ferry from Hull?
