1.2 16v Mk 2 Ph 2 Extreme

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
In wet weather especially when its like fine spray, my dash will reset at random intervals as though its going through the ignition sequence.
I will be driving along and everything on the dash will turn off, all needles, speedo and rev counter drop to zero. All the warning lights then come on for a couple of seconds and the needles, speedo and rev counter come back to life.
It use to happen once or twice a YEAR but has been getting progressively worse and during the last wet weather we had on Thursday it did it 10 times over two short journeys.
The difference between it and the ignition sequence that you get when you start the car is that all the trip information like mileage, mpg and average speed is also reset although the total mileage is still retained.
Car is a 1.2 16v Mk 2 Phase 2.
