Data would be sent over wifi,

Data is your files etc on your computer

Wifi is just a term for sending data wirelessly.

So on a o2 contract if you have unlimited wi-fi on a iphone you can browse as much as you like.
I dont get what unlimited data would be? Downloading apps?

All wifi is is connecting a router with your phone, same as you would a laptop.

The data would be the stuff you download through the 02 mobile network.

So you would need unlimited data not wi-fi?

Or are they classing them as the same thing?

How can they charge for wi-fi?

They don't its just letting you know the phone has the capability to use wi fi and you can download as much as you want (data) via any wi fi connection.

So there is no difference between a iphone contract saying 'unlimited wi-fi and data' and a normal o2 contract saying 'unlimited wi-fi'?

yeah massive difference. But don't know how to explain it.

Any device that has WIFI has unlimited WIFI

the data part of that contract would be what you download over the 02 network not the WIFI

Thats what im thinking.

So an o2 unlimited bolt on for £7.50 a month is a waste of £7.50 a month? Or do they mean data?

The Unlimited Data Bundle allows you to connect to the internet direct from your phone.

The Unlimited WiFi allows you to connect to wireless hotspots around the country, around 9000 I believe, called something like the cloud agreement or something. Some of the places include coffee shops etc

Unlimited WiFi is only worth it if you have WiFi on your phone, even then, I'd say Unlimited Data is the better option as the data signal is more around than these WiFis.

If you have WiFi on your phone but not the WiFi Bundle, you can still connect to WiFi spots like your route, mates router, some libraries, anywhere with a free connection.

Hmm can you add the Unlimited Data Bundle and then use your phone as a modem for your laptop?
