i know main dealers especially reno have the ability to fleece us jo public easily out of our hard earned but come on reno sort it out .

Cambelt = £601 all in (had this done at reno for convenience)

they then tell me after they have taken off bumper head lights and stripped it down that the water pump is leaking half expected this after reading up on it on this site

water pump fitted = £146 (charging me an hours labour not sure it would take an hour but reno)

in the same phone call they said my power steering pump was weeping thats why i was loosing fluid not aware there was a problem checked all the levels at the turn of the new year no top ups required now this is

pwrsteering = £261 +vat and to keep the costs down they will only charge me another hours labour @ £85

im no mechanic but i feel that they are taking longer than the computer hours reno work from so are making up jobs and charging me for the time to recoup money.

but for the cambelt if you have it done at the specified milage/year then if it goes and fubars the engine they will replace it under warranty. that is the main reason it went to reno

Rentech are in Portsmouth, GDI are in Kimbolton, nr Huntingdon Cambridgeshire.

I wouldnt hold your breath on that one, I think the main dealer book of excuses would be out and well thumbed before you got them to do ANYTHING under warranty for a service repair.

the water pump can be chnaged in 20mins as the belt is already off. pas pump is prob 45 mins..

I had my MOT and 36000 m service at Thieving Reno. The car is 5 years old and had only done 20000 m.
I should have known better, the only reason I go to Reno was to have the service book stamped. Never ever again will I go to Reno. They even had the f***ing cheek to offer to change the cambelt, parts £158.02 + 642.52 for 5 hours work. That’s £128 an hour.
They are just conning b*****ds. And they never ever call you when your car is being serviced. You always have to chase them.
I know I’m taking a big risk of not having the cambelt changed until next year. I just hope it holds out.
After reading so many good comments about RENTECH, I will definitely be taking my car to them for the next service and cambelt change even though it’s 100 miles away.

My 36k is a few months away, always had Reno do my services, but it will be Mike for this one, warranty is out so no need to stay with the stealers! They don't even smile when they present you with the bill, it is just a "thats what it costs, so get your card out" look !

This is what ruins an otherwise fantastic car.

Anyone know how far in advance you have to book Rentech? He seems very popular...
