dci 65 or 1.4 dyn?

  Oil Burner
hi, not posted much yet so new here.

i currently have a 02 dci 65 expression plus with 48000 on it. And i am considering swapping it in for a 1.4 16v dynamic with 24000

the main reason for the change is wanting a little more get up and go. However from what i understand the clio diesels are deceptive and the performance figures dont actually represent midrange power. Is this the case?

if i got the 1.4 would i notice the difference (besides the significantly higher top end)

Also does the dymanic have the better suspension pack? as mine is a bit of an understeering pig.

thanks in advance,

NICK

diesels have alot more power lower down, if i was you i'd go for the DCi 80, or Dci 100. The 1.4 wont feel as fast initially as there is less torque but you'll notice the kick higher up the range, its what you prefer tbh

i do mainly bypass driving and B roads. Little bit of everything really. According to the stats the 1.4 should be nearly 4seconds to 60 quicker. However my car feels pretty nippy at about 40-70 its each side of that it seems rubbish.

The reason for moving to petrol is that i can get a lower mileage car for not alot more money than mine is worth part ex.

so the car im looking at is about 500 more than mine is worth and has only 24k on it. And its a year younger with 2 extra doors. The downside is the 40 mpg over my 60mpg. However with diesel prices going up and down like a yoyo it works out as a pretty small difference.

only a small amount extra to pay towards the insurance as well.

don't get rid of the dci 65, just get it remapped. Diesel power buddy think of how much cash your going to paying out for unleaded.

Stick with the DCI mate, theres not much in performance to be fair, the DCI will feel more punch, whereas the 1.4 will keep revving right round.

For the very slight difference in performance, the extra MPG is way worth it, only case I'd swap is if your bored with the spec level. Ask pmurray about a remap and you'd be allover 1.4s

Dont forget the £50 a year tax aswell
