De-Cat

Thinking of buying one and wanting to know if it will cause any problems (Don't mean M.O.T's), more engine related i.e running badly, and have heard it causes engine light to come on due to lambda senses.
So people with them your experiences please.

Nope shouldn't do on a 172 idealy you would disconnect the second lambeda sensor and tape up the wiring and the warning light won't come on.

with ours you're getting hand crafed TIG welded perfection

with theirs your getting a mass produced MIG welded pipe

yeah fits like a glove, noise will be increased, but won't be ridiculous

logan, either way your standard back box WILL fall off at some point

Fred, going to order one from your website tonight when i get home.I am going to get a back box when the original one's had it, going to go with your back box aswell. How loud will it be with that as well, looking for more power as oppossed to big noise.

Also do you do a sports cat for the phase 1 172?

mk1 172 decat is on the way, slowly!

logan unfortunatley our rear box only fits our centre section, it won't fit an OE centre pipe, sorry!

Fred you got an ETA on the phase 1 172 decat. As I've got money waiting and would prefer to spend it on your welds than KTECs/Janspeeds

I dont mind being the guinea pig car for you to try the decat on... wink wink.

it'll be the same price mate at £125, its just getting hold of a mk1 cat so we can make a jig up

doesn't this affect the fuel mixture? thought that's what the lambda sensor is for?

The first lambeda is for fuel mixture the second just there to check the emmisions after cat are lower as they should be.
