Ive got a williams with a Cat Back Magnex and was wondering about a few things?

Does a cat by-pass make much difference?

Is it louder?

Is the Clio exhaust a 2 part one or a 3 part? ie: if i get a magnex cat by-pass pipe will that be me fully stainless - or is there another section?

cat free pipe will make the car louder as the cat acts as a silencer as well, your system will be fully stainless if you fit the pipe right upto the manifold, you can get stainless manifolds as well but there mega money

Yes the decat pipe will make a small but noticeable difference, no if you get a Magnex decat it will not be any louder at all as its a proper stainless silencer box, and if you do stick with Magnex then youve got stainless all the way up to the downpipe. AFAIK no-one makes a stainless downpipe for the Willy or the 16v, but you can get a stainless tubular manifold from SUpersprint. A bit pointless unless you want the shine, because the Willy has a tubular manifold anyway.

I have a Mongoose system and fitted a BB Tuning de-cat pipe a few weeks ago. I think it adds a smidgen of low-down torque at motorway speeds, but the noise takes some getting used to. It isnt that intrusive when you learn what revs/gears to use, but it can sound a bit Nova-esque at 1-3000rpm on anything above moderate throttle. I also think you lose the unique induction roar of the F7P/R 16v/Willy engines as they get drowned out by the exhaust bark. The pay-off is an amazing start-up/idle, pops and occasional flames.

nick are you sure about the magnex cat replacment pipe being a silenced one?? as i have just ordered one with my magnex system but was kinda getting put of as everyone was saying that they are really loud??
