De-locking doors......

I,m gonna get my car de_locked after some t**t already had a go with a screwdriver on my drivers door before giving up and putting me window through!

How do i get into the car if the battery packs up though as the boot doesnt have a key hole either?

Ive no locks on mine, dont think you can get in without breaking a window, you can always have a door pop hidden under the mirror. I just hope my battery never goes flat!

ive had mine de-locked mate on both doors but left the boot incase you need to combat dive over the shelf, lol. a boot tends to be hard to get in so if the alarm is good, the locks removed on the doors keep the jellous knobs away.

Dont know how much , was done by autodynamics - www.autodynamics.org.uk
I got an all in price for all my work.

Took me md head unit and most of the contents of the glove box, b*^*"*ds!!!!
Col004, the boot doesnt have a key hole so if the door locks go im stuck.

I didnt know that on the new clios, you could de-lock the doors and fit a solinoid switch some were under the car were no one would know so you could pop the boot if anything gose wrong. there d**ks who do things like that to peoples cars, mines always garaged now cause someone had a pop at my nova on the drive outside my house.

sorry to here the trouble your having matey.

although thinking again if the bat goes the solinoid switch wouldnt work, im tired and not thinking straight lol, ive no idear mate what to do, there bellends arent they, why dont they just leave cars alone.

My friend has a golf, and he has the hidden solenoid option for his boot.

The way he has overcome the battery going flat problem, is to have jumpleads connected to his battery, which are then hidden underneath the car. So if the battery goes flat, you just pop your jumpleads out.

Pretty cunning.

Could you coat hanger the door open???? I did this on my mates car (when hed had a few, and we were stranded + he lost his keys!!!) had to hotwire it!!!! wasonly a nova though!!!!

theres a few ways round it so u dont have to leave nasty locks on places.

1. the doors are actually very easy to bend outward to stick wedges in while u hook the inside opener thingy.

2. u can have a switch mounted under an arch or hidden place of ur choice that will pop open the drivers or whateva door u want, even if the battery has died.

try speaking to in car electronics. they told me about that switch u can fit. its not a solenoid (they run off the keyfob) but they do fit those too

Cheers everyone, think ill get it done anyway and worry later if the battery packs up! Got a quote for £150 to do the lock thats busted and about £250 to do both sides, is this reasonable? Its metallic paint.

I was quoted £150 to de-lock both doors on my 19.

I do know the guy quite well, but even so, its quite a lot less.

yup the hiddn button idea is the best. u can even put it right under the car so u have to jack the car up to press the button. ok u will ahve to ask a fellow motorist to borrow thier jack for 5 mins but its better than some little pickie finding the magic button.

and where abouts are you based m8?
if in surrey then my m8s bodyshop is awesome. its based off junction 9 on the m25

dop me an email if interrested, 3 other people from cliosport have thier cars booked in there already

New clios operate with cables rather than metal bars which are tied away so that you cannot hook then with a coat hanger from above.

The area around the door lock is reinforced by a plastic thing! that covers quite a bit of surface area around the lock so that it cant be screwdrivered out - it appears that thiefs dont know this so end up making a mess of the lock, then going for the window instead.

I recommend that everyone leaves their glovebox open when they leave the car, that way you can clearly show that youve got nothing to hide.

If you get your car delocked, then get the windows coated with a smashproof sheeting. (Toad make this along with others) so that even if they smash the window, it keeps partial strength, plus the glass does not go all over the place.

I managed it last night on the seafront, with the anti hijack on the alarm when you shut the doors they lock and silly me left the keys in the car!
Nick and Tony managed to break in for me! Nightmare! Thanks guys.
