I have a pipercross viper for sale and a 90 degree bend aswell if ya intrested, they are all in good condiction just selling as i got a much better induction kit.

i wouldnt..comes with a year free warranty too which covers all the cambelt work etc too

Which will be done wrong.

yeah but I doubt they would do that, as they would get "trade" prices on everything so you would be short when you get the work done as it would most likely cost you more.

As above, would never let anyone other than a trusted specialist do cam belt, as they are always done wrong.

Who me?

Maybe, but every thread on here about cam belts being done by anyone other than a specialist is a bad one. maybe not immediately, but then they get it rolling roaded and are 30% down on power, or it breaks 6months later when the tensioner dissentegrates, or something else equally rubbish.

I know what you're saying, and personally, I'd always, and have always used a specialist.

But to say they're always done incorrectly by any other third party is a bit strong.

You need the correct tools to lock the cams in place. But you can make one.

You also need new grommets when you're done. Also the tentioner must be replaced.

These three things are commonly overlooked by untrained techs.

bit annoyed as got called up and it actually needed its cambelt doing, so thats been done at the moment, 2new front discs and pads and 2 new tyres.
Get it tomorrow at 2pm..although i suppose i should be happy the cambelts being done!

Must be a good dealer that would, after sale, just volunteer to do the cambelt. You sure you aren't paying for this?

Maybe your right, but certainly the attitude I would take if I was in this position.

People only put threads up about bad things when talking about cambelts though.

Mine was done by a non specialist (by the previous owner, personally i would use a specialist) and is spot on, makes average power, runs sweet as a nut but i dont find the need to put a thread up about it.

Clutching that wood right now

is there anyway to check if the tensioner and grommets were replaced? or just take there word for it

Ideally, you should look at the tensioner and grommets with your eyes.

Check if they are new.

Or ask for a parts manifest.

i woulddnt even know what to look for..ill ask for a parts manifest and see what they say...as its been serviced and mot;d at the same time id assume they should make a manifest too?

and if they arent on there would you ask them to do it?
