Deal or No Deal?

No cup packs, not the best colour (in terms of resale) and no mention of cambelt.

I've only just come across the ad and need to ring up tomorrow to see about service history in more detail and cambelt etc...

It *looks* immaculate and low mileage... I just can't decide if I like the colour or not? I LOVE the Trophy, trouble is, it knocks my already ludicrous insurance quotes for 182's up another £350 which puts it out of my insurance budget price range :(

I'm starting to think this cup packs rubbish is nonsense. On here, yes everyone want cup packs on the 182. But to the average car buyer at that price point, most people don't even know the difference. Friend of mine is selling an Inferno, no cup packs. He was worried about not having them, he's had plenty of interest (only been up for 10days), not a single person has enquired about the cup packs.

I'd say 95% of people on here wouldn't be able to tell the difference in how they drive, or drive their car hard enough for it to be a factor.

I'd say 99.

But i'm only going on resale point of view. Besides, aren't non cup packs easier to get coilovers for?

You'll know better than me, but on a car that's going to be roughly 7-8yrs old, under £4k come resale time, will cup packs make a difference?

Jes*s... if they only were for sale for that price over here... We pay 9k for a RS like this.

I do like the colour, but it indeed has no CUP pack on it :(

I don't honestly know mate. I've never had a 182! (Well I have, but not in work)

Thanks for the offer mate but I'm not looking to buy trade, only have half the dosh for the car and would need to borrow the other half because we're in need of the car now :) Thanks though!

I'm already double my insurance to pay for a 182 and to go fully comp. I pay less than half for my GTi now than the quotes I have been getting on 182's, never mind Trophy's!

a MINT 182 is hard to find, i've seen 2 in the past week with hooky service history FROM A MAIN DEALER! Main dealer selling cars with FSH and they haven't had the cabelt done, that went down well with the customers!

That inferno doesnt look bad if you can get a few quid of the stealer/ confirm cambelt etc.
JMS BG 182 looks the business. Would not look like there will be any substantial bills to come judging by the service history and recent work.

BTW, just insured my 182 for £318 fully comp for the next year.:D
Some advantages to getting older.
