Very tempted to use something like this but can't decide whether I want to deal with the faff.

Any real world experiences on whether they are easy and whether they actually add any value?

Cheers

For company use? We use One Password at work and it’s superb, wouldn’t see the need for personal use though.
It's for personal and work combined. I own and run two businesses as well as about 500 personal passwords. Altogether its quite a lot to keep on top of.

We have Dashlane in work.

Tbh I use Apple passwords for everything and never had any issues with it.

Yeah it's no brainer then tbh. Just super handy you can control what employees have access to which company websites without the need to share your actual password with them.

I don't know what the cost differences are though. Proably all do the same job but wouldn't be suprised if One Password is the most costly, they've got a Red Bull F1 Team to sponsor :ROFLMAO:

Have you tried them all? Why is it so good mate?
Tried LastPass and sacked that off when they wanted people to pay

Then used KeyPass which was naff, then moved to Bitwarden about 3 years ago. I now use it for personal and business, you can segregate and set up access levels for different vaults so you can keep anything personal separate. Between all of my vaults I have about 700 passwords plus ssh keys, notes and a couple of my work cards

Has everything I need

We used to use Keepass at work, it was…. “OK”.

Bitwarden now and it’s decent, no complaints.

At the end of the day, just want something transparent which keeps out of the way.

I use OnePassword and have done for years. It's been great and I have separate "vaults" for Personal, Family (me and the missus) and my Ltd Business. (y)

EDIT: Easy to use and integrates nicely with browsers on desktop/laptop, tablet/mobile, etc.
EDIT2: Also great for secure notes, passport numbers, etc.

I use Dashlane and its transformed my life, I love it.

I suspect all the big names are much of a muchness by now, but for me Dashlane integrates well into my mobile, laptop and desktop across various browsers. I can have a unique and lengthy password for every online service (lots) and the fact my passwords aren't shared from one dodgy website to the next limits my exposure to someone using my info for naughty things.

I like that it stores my payment info and also allows you to create secure notes, so i keep notes on cars, insurance policy numbers, chassis numbers, etcetc. on there too which makes it accessible to me from anywhere on any device.

Yes there is always the thought that they might get hacked, but supposedly they are very secure and your data is encrypted.

To add,

Anyone who doesn't see the use of a decent password manager outside of work is likely reusing the same password across the majority of their accounts or has a txt doc on their desktop with all their passwords in it or has some seriously high functioning autism.

What's wrong with using my 🫆 on me phone?
Google passwords is pretty handy!

I think its fine too. You just need something that generates random passwords and stores them securely. I don't much like the ones from Google, Apple or Samsung because they are quite geared towards trapping you in their system.

As long as people aren't using one password for everything 🤷‍♂️

I'm sure most of the hosted solutions are fine and I'm just overly paranoid given industry I'm in, but I just use Keepass and variants of it depending on device, and locally host the data.

Yeah it's not as pretty as most other solutions, it's a bit more 'manual', but tbh it does what I need it to do so am happy :)
