Dealer Rant: PART 3

For them few that know my temp sensor has gone on the 182 and Renault in Barnsley refuse to fix it until they see what happens. Due to work I cant get it in to show them. So I rang Renault in Rotherham and they are saying the same sh*te...

Theres nothing I can do with the car. I dont really want to drive it incase it floods the engine. Cant go long distance incase it brakes down. Ive bought a brand new car that I cant drive. Im supposed to be going to Liverpool next Friday.

If anyone wants a 182 ome and pick the b*****d thing up... Im never buying another Renault car. Really lost my rag with them today. Only way I can take it in is to take the day off and then Im loosing money.

Ring Renault UK, and MOAN that normally sorts things

you have warranty, and youve told the garage your problem, if it goes bang, they can pay

Drive it, let it break down. Use the AA membership to take the car to the dealer on the back of the truck. That should get the message across.

Its propper stressing me out... Hate all the b******s that work at Renault... They turned round today and said if the computer says theres nothing wrong then theres nothing wrong

My advice is to rag the f**k out of it...when the temp senor dips...continue to rag the f**k out of it...drive at 60 mph at 7000rpm if you have to...eventually it should break down. Then, as suggested, phone the AA.

Same thing happened to my car, and many others here. Renault know god damn well what the problem is, and yet it seems their f**king Mickey Mouse dealers dont know and dont care. Shocking that this is still happening.

Took it in today and and they have now seen the problem. Its booked in for Wednesday. They said they might need it for a few days so they can hook up the computer and take it for a spin... I thought they would have just fixed it now without any problems. Hate the thought of someone going out and thrahing my car for a few days.

write the mileage on a post it note stuck to the dash.... dealers have limited mileage they are allowed to do when fixing your car.

How difficult are these things to fit for the "competent home mechanic"?

If it happens to me Im going to ask for one under warranty (happy to show them the problem if needs be) and fit it either myself or at the independent of my choice.

Or do warranty rules differ from servicing rules in that a franchised dealer has to fit it?
