Dealer will not budge

After getting a new 182.

I have had the test drive, and looking to order soon, but the dealer just wont budge from the list price. Ive shown him I can get it from various places around the UK for about 13k with cup packs, but they still wont budge.

Any suggestions as to what I can do. Ive mentioned Cliosports, and that I also know someone who has bought a 182 for 13k, but they dont seem to want to budge, just keep giving me the same price.

Im off to another renault dealer tomorrow to see what they say with regards to a better deal.

I had this with SJ Cooks in Bristol. They had the bare faced cheek to offer me an ex demo for more than I was telling them I could get a new one!!!!!!!!


The simple solution is to do what I did and buy it from the place where you could get it for £13k! I had to wait 4 months but it was worth it. If they want to call your bluff then walk mate, they lose and you and another dealer win.

if your not fussy about it being an import, then get to ya nearest motorpoint, drive away any colour and brand spanker for £11699

Im based in North Dorset. Olympian in Blandford are the ones Im dealing with. Im off to Yeovil tomorrow, to see what they can do. If neither will budge, then I will have to and get it somewhere else.

They also offered me an ex-demo with 3k on the clock for £13,500!!!! I told them kindly to shove it!

Go elsewhere, why pay extra for the same car.

I have bought cars off the internet and then gone to a dealer for services etc and been treated the same as if i have bought the car directly from them.

you dont get any extra come back just cos you bought the car from them cos its under warranty.

Walk away mate, he cant be arsed to work to sell you a car.. imagine what they are gonna be like once you have parted with your cash.. imagine what it would be like if something went wrong with the car ?

Wouldnt even bother going to Yeovil to be honest - I phoned round 4 or 5 dealers when I was looking for my 182, and they were more than happy to give me an idea of the deal they could do over the phone. Only thing that could cause a problem is if youre doing a partex, but even then they should be able to give you a ballpark figure on that.

My advice - go on the Renault website, get numbers for the 4 or 6 nearest dealers to you and see what they can do. You can still get all the servicing done at your nearest dealership - I think the warranty is with Renault rather than whichever dealer you get the car from.

Doesnt suprise me in that case... Ive yet to hear a good word said about them....

To be honest, thats exactly what I paid for mine a month ago, although I hadnt looked at this forum before Id signed for it. Worth bearing in mind that if youre also getting the Renault 0% finance deal its saving you around 900 squid over 3 years.

Also worth noting that the WhatCar target price for the standard 182 is a saving of about £1250 off list - I think the deal youve been offered is about £1700 off list, plus as I said earlier the 0% finance can save you another £900 or so over 3 years at 5.9% APR.

No, its the normal mettalic paint I believe though, if I could get id paint for that price Id be more than happy.

I think its a good deal, so will be visiting shortly!

Trouble is, I want to buy it on the Renault Selections, and getting a dealer to match internet prices wont be easy. I will keep trying for a better deal, but cant wait forever.

theres ex demos going at Arnold Clark for £11,900 with metallic paint and cup packs, I paid £11,900 brand new (UK car) a year ago with metallic paint un cupd - dont pay £13k plus its not worth it.

Get a run in 6month old one for £10k

To me its all very simple if you do not like the deal move on.

Remember that if you go back to the supplying dealer you may not get the service you had hoped for.

To get the car on the road it costs £12034 from motorpoint because i enquired registering it, cleaning it, road tax.

I paid £12400 OTR in black with body pack on ring around the dealers
