Decat or No decat....

I just wanna know if it will be stupid loud when cruising on the m'way or whatever. I value my ear drums...

have a little think about MOT's too. if your handy with the spanners then why not, you can always drop it on n off for MOT's.

If not then your gonna have a trip to the garage every time.

A decat will add about 2-5bhp realistically. Think about where your going with the car. Will it be a case of using the car every day, imo youd be better off buying some better brake pads/discs.

Much quicker point to point that way!

Get it done ya big jessy, i had a one piece pipe from manifold to back box ant hat was loud an pop'd for some reason. Put de-cat on with the normal other bits an it was with standable.

Proabably one of the best value performance per pound mod you can do to a 172

A little bit louder but nothing silly. Id go for silenced though. There's no difference in performance to a unsilenced one

I've got a sports cat and that made the exhaust noticalbly louder than stock. Bet a full decat is very loud/droney

I had decat on mine. Wasn't much louder at all! Loud at 50 tho.

No ph1 K-tec stealth/Maxogen and inlets at the front. One of the best sounding exhausts made imo!!! Quality wasn't the greatest, but the note was what i was going for essentually.

I have same exhaust system as you ste(gdi one)and i hd the k tec full decat and was a hell of alot louder very drony,But made the cr pull harder and run smoother
Imo it depends what you want from it

Aaagh I'm in two minds. Want the performance gains (getting a remap in a couple of months as well), but don't want it to sound like a chavved up supra with a 5" tin can on the back...

I no what you mean matey,as i took mine off for mot but quite liked tht my cat was back on as the noise sometimes was giving me a head ache,but liked the way it flew throu the rev range and just wanted to pull your head off all the time
