Decent-ish point and shoot camera?

Sorry i'm sure there's been these threads before but i'm not sure what to search. I'm not after anything fancy just a decent point and shoot camera for a budget up to £300ish? I'm not necessarily looking to spend this much if people can suggest something cheaper. It's something for trips, holidays etc which is better than my iphone..haha

I would say Fuji x10 for £300 but if you can stretch to £440 (panamoz.com or Kerson on TP) the Sony RX100 is in a different league.

Nikon D3100 @ £362.50 is a great buy and a good starting point for a DSLR! I have one and highly recommend it. I'm not massively into toying with all the settings, but it has a guide, some set up functions and you can tweak certain things to take some great photo's!

HD Video too.

If you've got £300.00 to spend on a point & shoot go for the Canon Powershot S100.

Fantastic camera for the money.

I would look in the the micro 43 format for that price.

You can pick up a brand new GF3 with 14-42 lens for that and it's quite a small package too. Plus the GF3 is more point and shoot than its bigger brothers - less manual controls.

Then, if you get into it more, you can upgrade the body and keep the lens.

Im thinking a Fuji X10 for the GF, looks great, decent spec, takes nice pictures from what ive seen
