Decent speaker setup.

  FF Titanium 182
Want to upgrade my speakers for my Clio 182 as the back right speaker has finally given up on me. Dont want to spend to much just a decent setup to give a nice sound. No interested in fitting a sub or addinh any to the parcel shelf. Possibly some tweeters though. Any thoughts?

just change out the rear speakers for generic replacements.
typically the speakers in 1*2's are actually quite decent, you just need a little underseat subwoofer and a decent headunit.

Sub can deal with the low-end noise, the speakers can then concentrate on the rest.

or, in summary
decent head unit with high-pass filters, ipod in etc. IRO £200
Decent underseat sub - £150-200
replacement rear speakers - £50?

thats the headunit I have, came with the car. Which reminds me anyone know the model of the headunit? Struggling to get the removal pins for it so I can get it out. Cheers

the standard speakers are s**t imo. They have plastic baskets which is great for weight saving, not so good for a speaker! The magnets are also very small (bigger magnets = better bass response from the voice coil). best thing to do is go to Halfords soundwall and pick a set you like the sound of (and expect them to sound worse when in your car as they put them in cabs which improves sound).

  A special one.
I have MTX components in the front and JL audio coaxial in the rear powered by a JL 5ch amp.

Sound's good, but I will be buying a JL slim sub for the boot at a later date.
