Decent wax for a Ford Transit

Gonna wax the heap in a few days. Dodojuice Light Fantastic ok for transit white? I want to apply it by hand if it matters. I'm sure there's something better but I are not dk.

And no, I don't really want to do a 3-stage T-rex semen buff, tiger sputum glaze and lime cordial rinse prior to waxing. It was clayed a few weeks back so I'm just gonna wash it and wax it. Good to go?

Sweet.

Light fantastic is fine on White paint (or any colour for that matter)

Cheers. Logic suggests it should be. I suppose I was just checking to see if any of the detailing geeks insist that it HAS to be prepared in some way before waxing, also to check that this wax isn't meant to rubbish.

I aren't sure if SRS /

But TBH I would just slap some http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sealants/finishkare-1000p-hi-temp-sealant/prod_589.html

on and it will save you doing it again for another 6 months plus.... 1 coat has been sat on my car since about July 2010 and is still doing its job, just.

If you want to spend that much.

Dodo isnt long lasting either, id spend my money elsewhere. I seriously think people should stump up the extra and get something like Zymol Carbon, or Vics Red.

Looks like youre too lazy to use a cleaner. In that case, FK1000p might be good for you. Or use any other sealant.

Like Z2, Z5 (With ZFX)

On white you couldnt tell the difference.

Clay it before you do it.

Apply with a foam applicator pad, do a pannel at a time. Keep testing the eax to see when its ready for removing.

Its not great stuff really but itll last you.

lol! Waxing by hand is the most pointless exercise ever!!! Just use a foam pad!
I think he meant foam pad.

That'll be better than LF Roy.

Just my 2 pence. You need a pre-wax cleanser in your life, epscially on white. It'll transform the colour of the car imo.

http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/werkstat-prime-acrylic.html Then the wax and stand back and realise why you R detailer Munson.

Oh and for a commercial vehicle there are harder waxes which would be more suitable. (Boat/hull wax for example)

OK so if you use a cleanser (lets say lime prime pmsl) can you then apply the wax straight on top without washing the f**king thing again?

Quite, are you sleepy this morning Ali?

f**k's a panel pot? Like a sampler? I was going to do the whole car TBH?
You'll get over 10 layers of wax out a DD sample pot you old fiend! Buy it, listen to me! Or you could buy some AG HD and go home happy for £25.

Yes, the wax goes straight over the cleanser, LP is a little oily though. Acrylic pwns all.

Yep The cleaner is there to clean the paintwork and provide a suitable base for a good wax to sit on.

Get some werkstat Prime Strong or some HD cleanse, or some Swissvax cleaner fluid, or some lime prime light, or some glaze, or whatever. Personally Id go with prime strong for your car as supposely itll give it a really good clean and extract s**t out the paintwork innit.

Then buy a decent wax. Zymol Carbon for instance. £50 a pot. And apply it after using a pre eax cleaner.

Or just use FK1000p by itself.

Id clay the entire car though if youve not done it over winter.

Infact Roy forgot the SN it's not for you mate, poor suggestion actually. You don't need a wax like that. FK1000p is the one to go for mate, top with you Zymol as you please.

If you get anything get that Prime and a couple of MF pads.

The FK will last forever mate, I doubt you want to be re-applying wax every month, maybe.

The Prime because you have a white car and it's f**king awesome stuff. It also will make the wax last even longer. Without spending £50+ I couldn't recommend another wax.

Ah ok. Does sound like a better option then. TBH it's all too complicated. Think I'm gonna go back to not giving a f**k

The blokes in the Waitrose car park will do me. I'm out.

What now??

Roy, FK for you. It will outlast most of the waxes mentioned in this thread. And on white, you won't notice. What you will notice is how long it beads for and how long the dirt slides off for.

Many thanks to everyone. I've gone for the FK shizznit. Clay and lime cordial first of course.

This is getting out of hand :(

Pmsl! Get a decent brush and then brush around our badges with some APC ... I don't have the energy for this. You don't pay me enough.

Throw LP away and i'll give you some prime ffs!

You said prime. I assumed you meant lime prime, just as any normal person would. I'm sure it'll be fine anyway.

LOL at our badges.

EDIT: APC? Why not just use the normal shampoo mix? f**king detailers :dapprove:
