Deep scratched

Afternoon, just come back from sainsburys and it appears that whilst i was in there eyeing up the cream cakes some silly bint has scratched my clio.
Its quite a deep scratch on the drivers side rear quarter panel about 2cm long. Sounds pathetic I know, but there are no other marks on the car and its my pride and joy. Seems you can't trust anybody these days, no respect for other peoples property, im goin to have to go back to parking it diagonally accross two spaces! When I get my liquid yellow 182 I will have to get an armed guard!
Any idea what i could touch this scratch up with? I have seen those touch up sticks, they any good?
Sorry for the rant, great forum

Touch up sticks are ok but you will still see it to a certain degree.
Where you getting your liquid from then?

Cheers Dave, a touch up stick may do the trick as its only small.
Probably my student loan :D. My mate had a liquid yellow one for a little while, i ve got to have one! Need to wait till March at least, otherwise the insurance will ruin me!

Sounds like you should be fine with a touch up.
Liquid yellow is hard to come by, only 34 in the uk.
So good luck, you wont regret it.

Sorry to hear that mate. Do you think it was an accidental scratch or done deliberately by mindless vandalising scum?
I absolutely love the liquid yellow colour, so like yourself it would really p**s me off if someone scratched mine if i had that colour. I would probably go into a rage or something but thats just me.

Hope it gets sorted soon mate. Have you got any pics of the scratch?

Buy a fine art brush & use that instead of the touch up one.

Otherwise blobs:mad:

no sorry mate, the only place i've seen them is my girlfriend got them with her yaris and they look pretty good. try halfords or a motor factor like german swedish french if you've got one near you. or alternativeley phone dent devils or your local equivilent and they should be able to do a local repair on it without doing the whole panel for about 70 - 80 quid ish.

You can get these marks fixed professionaly without costing that much..

Contact these guys http://www.chipsaway.co.uk/

They fixed 17 years worth of stone chips on my 5gtt... u can see a few pics after they finished. They just localise the area that needs fixing and wont spray the whole panel.. the paint colour match is spot on.

(U might need to click on these pics if they are thumbnails)

how much did it cost for your 5gt and what work was carried out

well... I was gready... and picked out every little mark on the whole car. Mine was £975, but I wanted all the panels put back as new and all chips and scratches repaired. I think u'll find they will do small area's for around £70.. and there will be no sign of any paint repair, when I get small chips etc, I'll just have bits done like that at small cost before next summer.. well worth the money than bodging it yourself tho..lol ;) the best bet is give them a call, someone will come out and give u a quote.

Beware - Chips away are only as good as the local guy in your area, ask around locally if anyone has had work done by them, they royally fucked up my old 205 GTi. On the other hand another guy down in Swindon did a fantastic job on a 182 wheel.

Thats true, as they are based all over the UK.. no complaints with mine tho.. :approve: was impressed.
