Demister fans not working!

In the last few days the fans that demist the front windshield have stopped working when i first turn the car on....but then suddenly start working after a few minutes of driving.... The rear demister works fine as does everything else with the car but nothing happens at all when i turn the fans on.
Anyone have any suggestions how i can fix this?

had a peugeot expert with this fault, would come on after a few mins, turned out to be the resistor.

Ah okay, how easy is that to do? Where are they located?
