Dent help

dear All
I have a lovely mark 1 172,and just had it now for over 5 years,love the car to bits,but after taking it to have it's cam belt done,brake pads and discs for a price of £420 (not a renault dealer) i have just found a whopping great dent just over the side rear window.
Not sure if this could be repaired,any ideas.There is so kind of plastic thing behind it on the inside,could this be taken off,or maybe drilled (thats what a dent bloke said on the phone)
really would like to get it done,has it looks crap.
Also having a bit of a problem with the speedo needle,sometimes it just falls to 0 mph,and does'nt record the mileage,the mechanic said there was no fault shown on the computer,but it still does it now and again.

Yeah i,ve had one or two jobs done over the years,but i was'nt sure about this one,has it is in a weird place.I don't think a car door type thing has it it,has the bodywork over the side window is quite tough,more so than say a side door.

Yeah... ive had a few dents on my 182 and being very picky about my car i always get them fixed straight away.

There are many different paintless dent removal companies about that have tons of different tools to do tricky jobs.

Acci-dent near me are very good but when i went there with a dent on the doubled skin part of the bonnet i didnt think he would be about to tap it out. But what he did was put some type of glue on the bonnet and then attatch a pulling thing.... yonk !!! and the dent cam out. The he just tapped it back in to showroom standard.

So anyway, they should be able to get it out for you mate.

i recently got a dent took out of my 182 at the Renault dealer, although it took them four attempts before they eventually looked at it, eventually the work was good and they did it for £40

My mate had some dents taken out of his X3 with these guys, they are based over Chorley way so not far from you .

speedo is mechanical so wont show up as a fault. the sensor is £30 new and just plugs into the back of the gear box.

Thanks Jon,hope it is just the sensor,it is playing up quite a lot now,it used to drop down to 0 mph on the motorway but now it is starting to do it around 30/40 mph.

Ive had loads of dents removed from cars over the years and i always use the same company! cheap' and you can't tell it was ever there!

I phoned a few places up and they don't seem to keen on repairing it,has they reckon they can't get behind the dent.
Just to remind anyone,it is over the side window just under the roof.
I can get it do if i have the paint taken off and the local bodyshop (not all the paint) and i have work done before by them,so i know they will do a decent job,but want around £160 for it.
I would rather have someone like a dent repair person to do it though,i know of a firm in St helens called Dentman..............

Any pics of the dent ? Your only option might be having it filled and painted if its in a really bad place

Find another dent company, they can sort them without needeing to get behind if they are using the more modern up to date systems.
