Dephaser?

Car  Blackgold 182
Hi,
This Dephaser thingy....is this the correct name or just what its commonly called on here? Am away to get a quote for one! Just wanna make sure it is the correct name?!!

Cheers

Well I can hardly buy it from the above and supply it to my local...that's just wrong imo! However if its way above that price I may have a word!

Lube up now then, I Had all my done in May by Retech due to Renault themselves charging over £800 just for the belts without the pulley, Search for a specialist as you'll get it for nearly half of that.

I thought there was fixed service pricing now? It'll still be more expensive but pretty sure the price dramatically dropped!

Na dude, SMC Renault in Weybridge, Surrey were £678 something plus VAT for Both belts and Tensioners I kid you not, Didn't even want to ask about Waterpump and De-phaser at that point.

Well I don't know of any specialists anywhere near me...and if I dare say that Im thinking of taking it to my local garage the whole of CS would go mental telling me that my cars going to blow up and the world will come to an end etc etc! Hence why am reluctant to let 'anyone' do it!

But if anyone knows a specialist around here then am all ears!

Weigh up the costs dude, for the sake of half tank of fuel or so it could save you a few hundred.

Yeh I know just cant be bothered! If it really is going to be a crazy price I might just though!

Anyone had it done at SWR recently that has a price for comparison?!

From their site, will need to call for Dephaser, Not terribly bad at all, make sure inc tensrs, probably will for that price.

Clio 172/182 (with aircon) £380 for both belts.
Timing belt (including) accessory belt - £30 mile service - £220

Thanks!

Yeh I know its not overly far but I really just cant be bothered...the clio is hardly a car for cruising the main roads!

by the looks of this thread i need to move to scotland!

Definate gap in the market up here! Mind you dunno how big a presence clio's have up here?!!

Off the subject slighty Mr Renault Wolverhampton ( I gather your name is Adam right?!!) Do you supply front mats for the 182...someone said to try you yesterday!

Believe me I would NOT take it to Renault for this, its worth the extra miles drive and you save £????'s too

when my belts are due its a 200 mile trip for me ! miles away from Renault

200 Miles?? Dan is just up the road from you?

Not bad at all, mine was £725 inc waterpump in the end, depending on mileage maybe push for that as well, if it does decide to get which lets face it these things are getting on a bit now, you'll only end up needing new belts again if it goes.

Rentech in Edinburgh done mine, think it was around £700 iirc, well worth it for the piece of mind that its specialists working on the car. Theyve also done my waterpump and powersteering pump. Never had any issues with their work and would rather pay a going rate than cut corners with garages who rarely work on these cars. Top notch

Edit: do get waterpump done when dephaser, i stupidly didnt and it went 6moths later, its a quick job for them when changing pulley

Just got this back from SWR Stirling:

'Cost for supply and fit of full timing belt kit,aux belt kit and dephaser would be £580 INC VAT.'
