Detecting camcorder on Windows MM or Vegas

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone can help. Downloaded Sony Vegas and all seems fine except it wont detect my camcorder and says i have to enable it to... where about?

So anyway, tried windows movie maker and it says the same but i cant find anywhere to enable it.

The USB stream is "on" on the camcorder and the computer picks it up.

So anyone now how to get it to detect it?

P.S. Any views on which is better ( windows Movie Maker or Sony Vegas)?
