diagnostic stalk check thing..

u know that diagnostic checker thing u can do for the comp on mk2 clios, well... my m8 did it on his 172 today and the speedo went round to 160mph, and wen i did it on my 04 1.4 16v it only went round to 122mph.

now funnily enough, that is the top speed which ive seen on my speedo a few times b4, but the other day i saw 126.

obviously hes not done 160mph in his 172 (more like 140 i think he sed) but im just wondering y mine doesnt go round to 140 (as thats where my clock finishes)

bit of a niggly question but i was just wondering...!

yeah its the same on my car phil

it only goes round to 122 on that thing

but ive seen 133 on a VERY VERY BIG hill

nope.

wot u gotta do is....

have the keys turned round till all the lights come on then press the button and hold it in.

then turn it off then back on till the lights come on only then u can take ure finger off the button.

although mine doesnt do this, the rev counter is going at a diff pace to the speedo, so it says 122 on mine wen the revs r at 3000rpm- strange init!

no. it only resets the trip computer on the instrument panel.

which button do you press down?, the trip computer button on the end of the stalk or the reset button on the speedo??

If you have the trip computer button press it it not use the reset button.

Only way to find out is to try I think it does though.

Press the reset button and then turn the ignition on.

its not the reset button? just hold the botton on the end of the windscreen wiper stalk and turn the ignition on

or it also works if u just hold the button in and turn the ignition on....... then to turn it off turn the key back

So what is the point of this? The button next to the speedo resets the trip?
