Diagnostics not reading and battery drain

  Clio RS182
HELP! I have a seemingly unsolvable problem on my 182. This may , or may not, have been caused by my accidental gross overfilling of the windscreen washer reservoir causing a considerable overflow, perhaps getting onto the electrics, Anyway, shortly after this when the car was restarted after a two mile journey the STOP light and battery symbol were lit. The car was taken to my trusted garage, and the alternator brushes were found to be burnt out. The alternator was repaired by a reputable auto electric specialist and refitted, but the ABS lights were now showing, and both my garage and a mobile electrics expert he uses could not obtain normal diagnostic readings. Although the mobile guy did have fault with the BCM showing. When the car returned it failed to start after two days, and had to be trickle charged, after it ran fine, but the battery had to be recharged again before driving to another specialist a week later, with the battery and Stop light appearing faintly They, also had no readings apart from an apparent Body Control Unit Fault. The specialists who repaired the alternator have been checking everything that moves, including taking out the BCM and checking the circuit, They also found the unit well sealed and like me, no dampness around from my washer incident from the engine side of the bulkhead. They are checking every earthing point at the moment. They found the battery OK, but as it is 3 years and 8 months old, and I have purchased a new one to replace it. The alternator is performing correctly according to every specialist who has been used.
This car is a very good lowish mileage example and I would be loath to give up on it, but waiting for different garage appointments and so on means that it has been effectively off the road for a month, and a lot of money has been spent, I live in Runcorn, north Cheshire, do you know of any RS electronic magicians nearby? Could a Renault main dealer or someone with CLIPS be of any use?

Renault main dealer won't be of any use to you really, get it to a specialist. I think Birchdown in Malpas will be one close to you?
I'd be surprised if the washer fluid overfilling was the cause of your issues. BCM/UCH can be sent off to dieselpumprepair2 on eBay if that's found to be the fault, highly recommended on here:

I'm sure I read something about faint battery and stop lights before, but I can't find it now. Although exciter wiring rings a bell.
Birchdown should get you sorted though I'm sure.

I would try another alternator as it sounds like a bad diode, If you want a bit of self diagnosis remove the cables from the back of the alt and see if cures the parasitic drain.
