Diesel 1.5

Ive had a number of Renault cars with the 1.9 Diesle engine and found them ro run pretty quietly. Earlier this year I bought a new Clio with the new 1.5 Diesel engine, but it seems to me to be very noisy, especially with the windows open. Has anyone else any experience of this?

Mine aint. Maybe its running a bit rough? Mines done 22000miles in 13months and it still isnt noisy, nor does it smoke.

I have driven the 1.5 a fair few times and yes its noisier than the older 1.9s.

The engine is noiser but the noise doesnt get as noisy as a petrol when your on the motorway or driving it harder.

Mines only quite noisy at idle but not really noisy and not once moving.

A little on start up...but once its goin I never hear the engine...I couldnt say the same about my old TVR Cerbera!....lol!..I love my little diesel!...only getting rid of it to get a new 172! nothing gone wrong from new and with 550 miles to a tank am well chuffed! (Ill miss that bit!)
