Diesel Injector On Clio 1.5 D

Hi, have had this problem for a couple of months now, and finally got to a renault dealer, who could not diganose the problem as no faults came up, what he did say though was that the first diesel injector had a greater backflow than the others?

could this be the cause of the power loss, trouble starting etc???

£382 to get this replaced through renault sunwin at squires gate, blackpool, fair price for one injector???

Sorry, but I dont understand what your car problem is ?

Second, I think that the price you have been given is way high - specially for only one injector. Maybe your dealer will change other parts too (therefore the high price).


PS. I am also a DCI owner ... mine is a DCI 65.

Might be worth trying injector cleanner, only costs £3-5, sorted out all the hesitation in my car.. says on the back of the bottle solves bad starts & poor running

poor starting must be glow plug related or injector related

is the pump overly loud?

Injectors are £220 or so each then you have to replace the high pressure lines which is £50 or so then you need to reprogram the ECU for the new injector to the ECU.

I wouldn't try and injectors stuff give the car an italian tune up se if it helps.

The main problem is loss of power, this happens at the same time as the engine management light coming on. I also have problems with starting.

Edde, the mechanic did mention about having to replace some feed pipes or something like that.

the mechanic said by changing the injector i shouldnt have any more loss of power and it should also cure the problems i have starting in the morning.

is this right?

Take it to a diesel specialist, they can test/repair or clean injectors for a lot less than a new one.
