Difference Between Mark 2 Phase 1 and Phase 2 1.6 RSIs

  Clio Dynamique 1.6 16v
Is there any difference between the Mark 2 Phase 1 Rsi and the Mark 2 Phase 2 1.6 16v, other than the bodywork and interior etc?

The ph2 uses a fly by wire throttle, not 100% but I think the ph1 uses a cable throttle.
Other than that I don't think so although the haynes manual seems to think later ph2s come with the 1.6 VVT engine though i've found nothing official to prove this and you can't see the cam pulleys either without taking the covers of so i'm 50/50 whether its true or not.

Other than that I can't think of anything, don't think the ph1s came with discs all round did they ?

Yeah discs all round was an option that no bugger seems to have had on the ph2, I spent a while trying to find one with all round discs but gave up in the end.

Would of thought you would have at least needed a 1.6 disc rear axle, and its probably more hassle than its worth and would cost a fortune.

Might be simply a case of swapping the drums for discs and calipers but I would have though it was more involved than that.

You can swop the rears to disks but drums are better you'll never overheat them and there easier and cheaper to live with.
