Hey, just a quick question, i know this random fat guy with an Alfa who recons you can weld the diff up in an front wheel drive car and it will handle better? Can you clear this up for him ;)

WTF? Diffs mean the wheels can turn at different speeds right i.e when cornering?

lol yeah, theres the anchorman affect aswell, you can weld the diff in rwd like in drift cars though
dont matter wether its front or rear wheel drive it still needs a diff to go round corners.
hence the reason rwd cars with welded diffs go sideways

you can, but the car won't corner at all

It will, you'll just scrub the inside tyre a lot. My fwd stockcar is welded, but then i drive it on shale so the scrub doesn't matter as much as wheelspin mid corner would be

I've never seen a landrover with locked diffs go sideways! lol

RWD locked diffs make it easier to drift, a ocked diff doesn't make you go sideways, but it will help a lot

funnily enough i have seen a landrover with a locked diff going sideways

down a muddy hill i'll grant you and said landrover ended up on its roof but hey.

only reason its easier to drift with a locked diff is both wheels are constantly spinning at the same rate
ever tried driving a landrover with locked diffs on the road?

it would basically be like a kart, would need ackerman steering on the front, if it was RWD, it would need to lift the inside rear wheel when cornering.

you weld diffs only on RWD cars used for drift. Why? coz its a suicide to do that on a everyday car

Now that's a silly thing to say Rob, you're just trying to be clever cause you know i was right about the colour of your own car. Drop the act, it gets tiresome.

And by the way, that also means the colour you bought must be wrong.

Never heard anything wrong with my driving either... it's not perfect but far from bad.
