Digital Camera/storage help

I am off travelling soon and I have decided to upgrade my camera gear.



Can anyone suggest a good digital camera with 4 mega pixels or more (about £250 to spend)



Also can anyone give me an idea of the sizes of the images? Depending on the mega pixels. As I am wondering how big my backup storage device I will need to be.
