Dipstick snapped!

My plastic dipsick has warped, so as I was cleaning off the oil the thing snapped in 3 pieces! All I have to cover the tube is the ring end - will this be ok to cover the hole while I use the car?

Can anyone confirm the length of the original dipstick on a 1.5DCI '53?

As long as it plugs the hole I'd assume it'd be fine. I'd even consider using duct tape if it's broken that badly just to cover the hole. If you talk to @Renault Wolverhampton he'll be able to sell you a new dipstick, the right one from your reg I'd have thought.

It was ok driving with the it in, but I got a replacement from my local dealers for about £22. They don't use the plastic ones, now its a traditional metal one. Problem sorted.
