Disabling bonnet alarm

Just pranged my car into the back of a merc and the bonnet has pushed itself up, thus the bonnet sensor doesn't reach the underside of the bonnet, and so the pin doesn't get pushed down. Can I set my alarm and it won't go off? Or can I just unplug it?

You have a 50/50 chance.

If you unplug it will either think the bonnet is shut or open.

If it thinks its open then you need to short the wires together.
