DIY or Powdercoat

  1.2 16v Clio
Ok so im going to be spraying my 172 wheels gloss white and the renault badge on the centre cap black for a little bit of detail :)

If i DIY then the materials are going to cost me about 50 quid, just wondered if anyone knows how much a professional place would charge and am i going to notice a big difference in the look/quality.

Cousin works at a place, told him theyre 15" 172 wheels etc etc and said he'd be able to get it done for about 30 quid a wheel. This a decent quote or should i hunt around for more?

Thanks in advance.

Think most people will say you'll get what you pay for, but if it's mates rates then go for it. PC should last longer and there's no chance of it going wrong.

If you can afford it I'd say go for the the PC unless you're also good with the rattle cans?

Im from leeds, well im guessing its mates rates. Rung him up and he just said ill give him a ring and get u a decent price sorted out. Sprayed a few things with the cans, wouldnt say im a pro or anything though. I dont wanna pay an arm and a leg for them doing professionally however i dont want to knacker myself either. 30 quid for them doing decent seemed like a good price so just needed opinions/advice.

Powdercoat is far superior to paint on wheels. More resistant to chipping and brake dust than paint.

Powdercoat them everytime if you can afford it. The only reason mine are painted is because I work in a bodyshop and can paint them for free. Powder coating lasts 100 times longer than any paint ever would.

The cheapest quote I got around East Anglia so far is £40 per wheel.. I dont know if that includes VAT though.. and thats with a 1 hour drive from my house
