Hey all. So i did the mod on my ph-quick where you slap in the bigger CAF inplace of the old ones, and currently they are just hanging down below the headlights. I replaced the std filter with a k&n one. It sounds awesome and all that but i seem to have lost power between gear changes, its just very sluggish after a change. I have a unichip piggy back system and was just wondering if the power loss was due to the fact that i should have re-tuned the car after doing the CAF mod?
i,ve had the same experience when fitting an open filter, the idea of getting more air in there.. lost torque, fuel milage is worse, sluggish like you say on throttle.
I've contacted Fastchip about the thought of a custom map to fit our idea of more/larger air-intake. He said it would always help to get a custom, but also mentioned the design of the manifold which may NOT benefit from a larger/more freeflowing airintake.
the filterbox as standard was designed to fit the manifold specifications so being it that it's almost always proven to get the best results on tests/ RR tests.
.. i'm going to refit my standard box asap (has got ITGpanelfilter) and perhaps also try just changing 1 CAF for a bigger one, see how that goes , maybe change the second one after..
