Do I need the crossovers??

  clio 172 cup
Can I just replace the original door speakers and tweeters with a new set of commponents without using the crossovers? Surely there must already be some sort of renault crossovers for the standard speakers??

Not that I dont wanna use them, just thought that there must already be some seeing as there is already tweeters in the dash.

I belive there is but the ones supplied with your componants will be a higher quality.

you could possibly get away with not using them, but cross overs are designed specifically for the frequency response of the drive units being used. In other words not using the cross over supplied could result in damage to the speakers.

Hide it in the dash somewhere, you run signal from your headunit into the crossover, then from the crossover to your tweeter and speaker.

there are no crossovers in the standard ones, just a filter in the speakers, use them or we will no doubt have a thread in a few days time from you "tweeter blown and why?" cos youve not stuck to the correct ohm rating

not the ohm rating that will be the problem its the low frquencies that the tweeter would be trying to produce and there isnt enough travel in the voice coil

That is spot on mate. There are defo no crossovers in most modern cars, just simple filters installed into the tweaters to stop them taking a bass kicking that would defo destroy them
