Sorry i didnt mean insure the front splitter, my company doesnt cover the cost of mods. I just meant they wont insure my car with a front splitter fitted as its made of carbon fibre!! Plus they dont know what it is anyway!

Sorted now i told them it was a front splitter. What i should of said is its a front spoiler, as they have that on thier computer.
They told me i had to declare it as a bodykit last night which would put £70 on my premium! I phoned back today and told them i wasn't happy and asked them if it would be on their computer as a front spoiler which it was so i was expecting the £70 back.
They refunded me £19! So im paying 50 quid for a front spoiler!!!! Ouch!

Wouldn't have bothered declaring it personally, its standard on cup and trophy and they wouldn't be aware of that anyway. So i'd have just stated it was on there when i bought the car.

Something like that is pretty trivial to fair, although i do know some companies are more accute than others with mods.

I only paid £70 for viper and SMT6 and colour coding:rasp:

I was quoted £25 for exhaust, tints, different alloys and colour coding originally.:approve:

greenlight are cheap but service is something else.....

I should say really its Elephant! Dont bother if you gunna mod your car they a pain!

I wasn't going to declare it but i got so paranoid from reading stuff on this forum that i just mentioned it, told them what it was, and that i wouldn't expect it to affect my policy. I also told them it was standard on the cup.
Its a way to make money to them at the end of the day! They can stick it up their a**** next year though!

A pain is not the word. I was previously with Elephant, and their call centres are abroad. It is so hard to understand the operators, and to get your point through to them

i'm with Elephant and have had no problems whatsoever telling them about my mods. Only added circa £100 to the policy too! Never spoke to anyone in a foreign call centre either? :S
