Do you prefer Laptop or Desktop ?

your a man tho, you cant multitask. just do one thing at a time and have 1 screen.

I'm not multi-tasking though. It just means I don't have to keep changing the window all the time. I can compare two different programmes at once - no swapping.

I've got a latop cos I needed something portable and compact and my main uses would be internet and downloading music. Got a cheap £400 jobby. Looks nice, compact and does everything I want apart from play games ...which I'd need a desktop for unless I wanted to spend stupid money. Might get a desktop again when I get my own place.

Depends. I prefer a desktop for computing power for when I need to run intensive programs and demanding apps. A laptop is my choice for portability and flexibility but it lacks the computing power, comparatively.

How can you have x2 screens for the macbook pro, there is only one screen output? So you can only have the laptop screen + 1. Is that what you mean by 2 screens?

You can put anything anywhere, just move as you would with one screen, just think of it as one wide-arsed desktop (or high if choose you to set it up that way). Generally though I set certain programmes on certain screens (expecially at work). What goes on what screen depends on what I need to compare the most.

The best triple monitor setup I've seen was a guy at work who setup his Macbook Pro to work in conjunction with his PC therefore giving him 3 screens, two from the Macbook Pro and one from the PC (all with the same mouse and keyboard) but it all worked seemlessly - very impressive!

I guess I prefer my Desktop, but that's only because its faster and I have my own little room with stereo etc. I do like my laptop loads too though. It stops me getting bored when I have to take it easy and stay in bed. I can surf ClioSport in comfort and watch tv at the same time. Sorted. ;) :D

Not bothered tbh - use a laptop at work and take it home if i'm feeling lazy. Very rarely use the desktop at home to play games, so a laptop would be fine really.

Just got a new compaq centrino laptop from pc world for just 450 squid. It has media centre installed, 1gb of ram, 80gb hard disk, dvd rewriter, 15.4 inch hd widescreen and works now wireless off the box we have. I like! Might not be as powerful as a top of the range desktop but for surfing the net its more than adaquate.
