dodgy idle after inlet change

  RenaultSport clio 172 mk2
hi guys ive had benr's inlet and plenum done for a week now, although im very happy with it i am having some idle probz

the cars seems to doing this when warm, whats happening is that the revs seems to bounce between 750-1000 constantly after warm, i took the car back to ben's yday and typically the problem didnt occur and was running very nice, and to my luck the problem is back again today.

the other day when i went for a run(pushed the car pretty hard) and came to a stop the revs were bouncing at 1000-1500 at idle!so i turned the car off and then on again and the rev counter flew straight up to 1500 and slowly came back down again to 1000.

at some junctions when i dip the clutch in the revs drop and the car nearly cuts out. ben had a look at all the sensors and they seemed fine, anyone got any ideas???

would reno be able to diagnose using the clip tool?

Sounds like you have a air leak.

New gasket time on inlet i reckon. Seeing as its only started doing it since that was changed.

Cant be an air leak as it doesnt do it all the time.

I thought we were able to replicate it whilst you were up, and sort the problem............obviously not.

Maybe we need to look at your broken TPS as everything else was fine.

when they changed the inlet a new reno gasket was used. i went all the way back to cambs to see ben yday and all bolts were tight and sensors were ok

am i right in thinking that its the idle control valve, map sensor and throttle position sonsor that are removed during the inlet change?

im trying to sort out the tps ben, its so typical of this car dude, i didnt wana keep annoying you today so posted up the prob lol

Its ok, i said it was fine to call anytime if you had anymore issues.

Like i said, if we book it in every day for the rest of its life then you wont have any problems! lol

The MAP sensor, Air temp and idle control valve were removed to do the work.

the TPS cannot be bought seperately iirc, bit of a bugger........a second hand throttlebody might be your best bet.
