My Mrs drives a 2000 Clio 1.6Si (8 valve) and the speedo has been dodgy for ages and its driving me up the wall.
It jumps up to between 90mph and 140mph (when youre only doing 30 or something) and sticks up there. To get it back to 0 you have to turn the ignition off, bang the top of the dash and turn the ignition on, the needle will drop a little each time until it eventually gets back to 0. Of course this "fix" lasts about 30 seconds and the fecking thing jumps back up again.
Anyone else had this or know how to fix it? Alternatively, does anyone know where I can get a new speedo without paying "stealership" prices?
On the bright side, Ill bet mines the only standard 1.6 Clio to have done an indicated 160+mph
