Does anyone have any special names for their car?

Ever since I had my first car in 1995, I have named my cars is it just me?? Here's the list of the cars and there names...

1. 1974 vw beetle (the green goddess)
2. 1993 vw polo 1.0 genesis (Phil)
3. 1989 vauxhall cavalier 1.8 lxi (frank)
4. 1991 Peugeot 205 1.6 gti (dave)
5. 1986 BMW 535i m(Herman)
6. 1991 vauxhall Astra Gte 16v (snowy)
7. 1991 Audi 100 2.2 Quattro advant (Goliath)
8. 2001 Vauxhall vectra 2.0 Sri 140 (Clive)
9. 1991 ford escort rs2000 (patch)
10. 1989 Toyota mk1 mr2 (nige)
11. 1996 ford escort rs 2000 (Colin)
12. 1996 BMW 328 sport (the hulk)
13. 2001 BMW 325 sport saloon(the beast)
14. 2003 Renault Clio 172 (unnamed as yet)

After reading this you lot may think I'm mad, and you're probably right. I get attached to my cars they are than just a piece of machinery to me. Would love these your thoughts.

P reg corsa 1.4 - pretty shitty car. Girlfriend was responsible for this one

The car I've been most attached to has never been named. All my others have been though

Mines called cedrick the clio

previous cars were named (in order of owned)
- Clio 1.2 billabong: The Aussi
- Lexus IS200:Toms (only because she was tuned, and tom spec'ed)
- Suzki Swift Sport: Mario (as in mario kart because the way it was abused)
- Astra VXR: Wagon! - Also nicknamed "friday afternoon job"

I never named any of the other cars i've owned as they didn't have a personality like the Clio.

I named a nova I had Da Kid, as the reg was D--- KYD, I've not named any others as I didn't get attached. I've always thought of my Clio as Nicole as well due to the old adverts for the Clio, papa?....Nicole?!

Mk1 1.2 clio, Dave, because everyones got a mate called dave...
Mk2ph1 1.6Rsi clio, Big dave, after its predecessor.
BG 182. John (regis) Because its short, black and goes fast round bends!!

Each to their own I suppose. My folks always named their cars, so I did with mine (apart from a focus that was just a stop gap) and my sister does too!! The names got to have a link to the car though. a 1.2 fiesta couldnt be called speedy!!

Did name my old van, It was a faded red Peugeot Partner with about 300k on it.
I owned it from 17 and drive to 6th form in it at the time, few people made postman pat comments so I named her Patricia.
Loved Patricia...then I killed her :s

I'm not normally one for naming cars though my mates in college called my first car, "Crotch Rocket" because I was the first person to pass my test in my year so all the birds wanted a lift even if my car was shite!

No, he said what you call your car not your... Oh, nevermind.

I leave naming the car to the other half. So I've had Big Ern' (A Sierra) and Little Ern' (A Fiesta ZS) and now the 182 is just known as SB (Silver Bullet). While I go along with it and call it SB I make a point on not giving it a gender.
