Thinking it might make a good trackday car, but the fact it doesn't have a MOT is a little offputting and the guy is reluctant to get one done.

Seems like a decent motor, reluctant MOT is abit strange but it might be fine, I would go and look at it first then go from there!

Might be totally fine; end of day he's selling it for £1000 so wont want to spend anymore on it. If it was mot'd he might have it listed for £1250 maybe?

wouldn't bother there loads and loads out there around this mileage with with extensive history/ mot/ tax newer mk2 model, just do advanced search on ebay; closed auction option then you'll get a idea of how much the one's that do sell fetch & one's that dont.

then u'll have extra expense of avin to trailer/ recovery truck it back home
